Azkals’ Cagara signs with German Club

Philippine Azkals defender Dennis Cagara has signed a contract with German club Karlsrusher SC (KSC), which campaigns in the third division of football in Germany.

KSC announced in a statement last week that they are “committed to left back Dennis Cagara.”

“The 27 year old defensive player signed a contract until june 30, 2014” it added.

According to Soccer Central, Cagara has been “club-less” since his contract option was not picked up by FSV Frankfurt, a team in the second division.

Cagara is of Filipino and Danish descent. He made his debut for the Azkals in October 2011, in their friendly against Singapore.

KSC head coach Mark Kauczinki praised Cagara as a “fast and technically skilled player,” noting that his experience will be helpful for the squad.

KSC was relegated to the third division last season and losing in a playoff match against Jahn Regensburg.

The squad campaigned in the Bundesliga, the first division of football in Germany, from 2007-2009 before being relegated to the second division.
